| Qwest DS1 Digital Private Line Transport Service |
|
| Overview
Qwest DS-1 Service is a point to point high-capacity Private Line digital transport service (PLTS) that provides transmission of isochronous serial data at 1.544 MBPS and has the capacity of 24 voice equivalent channels. Because the transmission is digital, the signal is clean and free of cross talk, amplified noise and distortion. DS-1 Service channels are provided between customer-designated premises or between a customer-designated premises and a Qwest central office. In-region, DS-1 Service is provisioned on copper, fiber and in some instances, microwave radio. In some high-density cities, DS-1 Service is provisioned on a synchronous optical network (SONET)-based interoffice network that connects key serving wire centers.

| Frame Relay Service |
|
|
Overview Frame Relay Service (FRS) is a network transport service that allows businesses to electronically deliver data, images, voice and Internet access over a highly reliable, scalable and secure network.
Using high speed networking technology to bundle information into packets called frames, FRS uses a common format with a common set of rules based on Frame Relay Forum standards. Instead of assigning fixed channels to specific applications, FRS uses statistical multiplexing that allows allocation of circuit bandwidth to applications, as needed, thus providing a cost-effective solution. Frame Relay Service is designed to support many different business applications within a network, treating each business application based on bandwidth needs. Frame Relay Service supports physical layer connections from 56 K to 45 Mbps based on traditional digital hierarchy services.
Frame Relay Service requires the use of customer premises equipment (CPE) that functions as a multiplexer, router, hub or frame relay switch. The CPE is purchased separately from FRS and must conform to industry standards for physical digital hierarchy and frame relay logical termination. The CPE accumulates information and puts it into frame format suitable for transmission over the Frame Relay network.

Keeping Pace With Your Business
Qwest provides a high-speed, secure and reliable solution that integrates your data, voice and Internet traffic over a single network. The OBJ Group can design a broadband solution to fit you businesses needs that can include various QoS levels:
- Constant bit rate (CBR) provides the highest service priority and supports real-time applications that cannot tolerate variations in delay (jitter) and require a fixed amount of bandwidth.
- Variable bit rate real time (VBRrt) is for time-sensitive applications that require high data delivery rate and low delay, while allowing applications to burst.
- Variable bit rate non real time (VBRnrt) is designed for non-real-time applications with bursty traffic characteristics that can tolerate delay variation.
- Available vit rate (ABR) service category is designed for bursty non-real time applications that tolerate delay and delay variation (jitter).
- Unspecified bit rate (UBR) is a "best effort" service designed for non-mission-critical applications.
If your business has applications that require high-speed, security, reliability and guaranteed throughput to integrate data, video, voice and Internet traffic over a single network, Qwest ATM may be the solution. Qwest ATM is also available under the Total Advantage program which offers discounts on total spending with Qwest. |

| Network Design |
|
At the OBJ Group we pride ourselves on custom designing networks that meet the specific needs of our business clients. We work with your IT staff and your telecom staff to understand all of the communications needs of the organization. Then we prepare alternative network designs that address speed, efficiency, hardware and software requirements, and yes - costs. Then we present you with alternatives that you can consider and make informed decisions about the best choices for your business. And since we are visual kinds of people we also prepare network diagrams that help to explain the network, the components of the network and the connections.
